Tower Services is located in the historic town of Market Drayton, renowned for its vibrant arts and culture scene, as well as a bustling town centre featuring an art gallery, cinema, and theatre. The town has also earned recognition for producing several critically acclaimed bands and proudly claims to be the birthplace of Gingerbread. With a thriving local community that attracts numerous tourists, Market Drayton’s businesses must stay ahead of growing trends.
One such business manager is Callum Rickerby, who took over managing the bustling Tower Services site a few years ago after the previous manager retired. Recently, Forward EV had the opportunity to speak with Callum about the latest enhancement at Tower: the installation of an Electric vehicle (EV) charger by Forward.
“Other EV charger providers wanted long leases or required purchasing the land,” Callum explained. “But Forward EV was different—no long leases, no land charges, and no lengthy contracts.”
Callum appreciated Forward EV’s straightforward approach, free of minimum orders or restrictive terms.
“It was simple,” he said. “I get to make all the decisions.”
With the rise of EVs on the roads, Callum recognised the importance of offering this service to his customers at his busy site. When asked about his experience with Forward EV, Callum shared,
“Ian, the guy who visited us, was incredibly friendly, down-to-earth, and clear in what he said. Everything turned out exactly as Ian had said. He showed us the potential return from a single charger per day, and it just made sense.”
Since the installation, Callum has seen good usage of the charger, with positive feedback from customers.
“The installation was smooth too,” Callum confirmed. “The engineers were great, and everything was set up without me having to worry.”
As for the future of Tower Services, Callum is optimistic. “I’m pleased with what we’ve established. Historically, this has always been a petrol station, but with more EVs on the road, we need to offer more than just petrol now.”
